RYE, NY — A historic Rye property has sold for a historic price and a familiar Rye face closed the record-setting sale.
Global Luxury Specialist Michèle Flood closed on the 859 Forest Ave. property in Rye on Thursday for $12,250,000, Coldwell Banker Realty announced. She represented the buyer in the transaction, which is the fifth priciest waterfront home ever sold in the city of Rye, according to One Key MLS.
"This is a rare and elegant offering… a 100-year-old brick center hall estate on three acres of open waterfront with a pool and dock, in the heart of coveted Milton Point," Flood said. "It was a pleasure to represent my client in the purchase of their spectacular new home."
Built in 1910, the 8,800-square-foot Georgian Colonial mansion was originally owned by the Dodge family, founders of the famous automotive company. According to the listing, the Trowbridge and Livingston-built estate served as the Uruguay embassy during the 1960s and had one of the first privately-owned enclosed tennis bubbles in the 1970s. The property offers eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, manicured lawns, a beach, a deep-water dock and a widow’s walk looking out onto the Long Island Sound. The home was last listed at $13,995,000.
Coldwell Banker Realty says that Flood has been their top salesperson in Westchester County based on sales volume for many years and is affiliated with the company’s Rye/Sound Shore office. She is a hand-picked member of the International Luxury Alliance, a powerful network of the most accomplished and talented high-end real estate specialists around the world, according to the realty company. Flood has over 35 years of experience serving Westchester home buyers and sellers.
